Terms of Service

1. Who may use TasteBud

You must be at least 13 years old — or the minimum age of digital consent in your country — and able to form a binding contract to use TasteBud. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. The Service and beta status

TasteBud helps you decide what to order by learning your taste and recommending dishes, each with a short explanation. The Service is currently offered as a closed beta, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, be interrupted, or be removed, and access may be granted, limited or revoked at our discretion as we develop the product.

3. Your account and sign-in

TasteBud uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time code. You are responsible for the email account you use to sign in and for activity that happens under your account. Please keep your email secure and let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Food, allergies and dietary information — please read

TasteBud’s recommendations, flavor profiles, dietary and spice badges, and explanations are provided for general informational purposes only and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Menus, ingredients, recipes and preparation methods are controlled by the restaurants, not by TasteBud, and can change at any time without notice.

TasteBud does not prepare food and cannot guarantee that any dish is free from a particular ingredient or allergen, or suitable for any specific diet or medical condition. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or a medical or dietary condition, you must confirm ingredients and preparation directly with the restaurant before ordering or eating, and never rely on TasteBud to avoid an allergen.

You assume full responsibility for your food choices. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TasteBud is not liable for any allergic reaction, illness, injury or other harm arising from food you order or consume.

5. Your content and feedback

When you provide taste preferences, dish reactions, ratings, feedback or other content, you grant TasteBud a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, reproduce and process that content to operate, personalize and improve the Service and to create aggregated, de-identified insights. You confirm you have the right to share it. If you send us suggestions or ideas, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use TasteBud lawfully and respectfully. In particular, you agree not to:

• misuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• scrape, crawl, harvest, or copy data from the Service except as expressly permitted;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code, models or underlying data;
• use the Service to break the law or to infringe the rights of others; or
• submit content that is false, misleading, harmful, or that you do not have the right to submit.

7. Intellectual property

The Service — including TasteBud and TasteHub, and their software, models, design, text, graphics, logos and trademarks — is owned by TasteBud and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Restaurants and third parties

TasteBud is independent: we are not affiliated with, do not endorse, and do not operate the restaurants whose menus appear in the Service. Menu information may come from third-party sources and may be inaccurate or out of date. Any interaction or transaction you have with a restaurant or other third party is solely between you and them.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any recommendation will meet your expectations or suit your needs.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TasteBud and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for any harm arising from food you order or consume, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero) or USD 100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TasteBud and its team from any claims, damages, losses and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using TasteBud at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time — including for a breach of these Terms or to discontinue the beta. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as the licence you grant for content already provided, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnification) will continue to apply.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TasteBud is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located there — except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you additional rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice where appropriate. By continuing to use TasteBud after an update, you accept the revised Terms.
